Histochemical similarities between newborn and leukaemic myeloid cells and their possible significance.

چکیده
The neutrophilic alkaline phosphatase activity of 40 newborns was determined and found to be frequently raised, similarly to a leukaemoid reaction. The newborn neutrophil has strong alkaline phosphatase activity and is unlike the myeloid leukaemia cell which has no alkaline phosphatase activity.

Evaluation of Possible Role of Dendritic Cells in Various Lupus Nephritis
Background & Objectives: Chronicity of lupus nephritis (LN) should be considered for interaction of cell mediated immunity (CMI) and dendritic cells in glomeruli and tubulointerstitial areas. In this study establishment of immunohistopathological changes of dendritic cells and other immune effector cells in lupus nephritis comparing with non-lupus nephritis was performed. Materials & Methods: ...
متن کاملGranulocytic sarcoma of the cervix: an immunohistochemical, histochemical, and ultrastructural study.
Light microscopical and routine immunohistochemical studies of a cervical neoplasm in a 32 year old woman initially suggested a histiocytic lymphoma, but histochemical staining for chloroacetate esterase established the correct diagnosis. This was supported by electron microscopic findings. Eight months later the patient developed a granulocytic sarcoma in her left breast and haemotological fea...

Stem cells occur in many somatic tissues of multicellular organism and are important participants in their physiology. Stem cells have three distinctive properties: 1- self-renewal, 2- the potential to proliferate extensively and 3- capability to develop into multiple lineages. Every time a stem cell divides, it makes one exact copy and one progenitor cell. Progenitor cells have finite division...
متن کاملIntranucleolar translocation of AgNORs in early granulocytic precursors in chronic myeloid leukaemia and K 562 cells.
The present study was undertaken to provide missing information on the distribution of AgNORs in large nucleoli of human leukaemic early granulocytic precursors in vivo as well as in vitro. In vivo, the distribution of AgNORs was studied in early granulocytic precursors of patients suffering from chronic myeloid leukaemia who were both untreated and treated with imatinib mesylate. AgNORs were v...
متن کاملComparison of Factors Which Induce Differentiation
Naturally occurring regulatory molecules which can cause the terminal differentiation of leukaemic cells have recently been the subject of great interest, and to date, several protein factors have been described that can induce the differentiation of various myeloid leukaemic cells in vitro. The haematopoietic colony-stimulating factors, granulocyte-CSF (G-CSF) and granulocyte/macrophage-CSF (G...
